Manga Love: Seiya and Usagi This is where I go over Seiya and Usagi's relationship as it was in the manga version of Sailor Stars.
Freaked out by what just happened, Seiya and his brothers take Usagi with them in their limo. When she comes to, she smells the scent of lilac, which is referred to as Seiya's flower throughout. She's a little confused, and Seiya takes her out of the car. She doesn't remember what just happened, and he certainly doesn't tell her. Usagi goes off on her way home. She doesn't even say thank you, which makes Yaten mad. ^^;; Seiya is kind of worried about her mental state. They don't meet again until Seiya and his brothers transfer to Juuban High School, the school Usagi and her friends (minus Rei) attend. They are in the same class as Usagi, and Minako, Makoto, Ami, and Rei are all over them. Usagi is a little depressed, because she hasn't heard anything from Mamoru in a while. But she's also somewhat confused. She gets postcards in her mailbox every day, showing different star systems of the galaxy. She decides that they're from Mamoru, and is kind of peeved that he doesn't write anything on them. So the storyline progresses, but Seiya never falls in love with Usagi. He and his brothers do hang out with her friends, and they all become friends. But Usagi becomes more and more depressed over the fact that Mamoru never writes to her, and she has flashes of memory about what happened to him. The plot goes on, and there's only one major scene between Seiya and Usagi.
Usagi is kind of in a daze, and then Haruka and Michiru show up. Haruka is freaked about the state Usagi is in, and tells Seiya to get away from her. After all, she assumes that he's done something to her. He backs off, of course. Usagi, of course, never thinks of Seiya as anything more than a friend. Later, she wakes up and sees him standing over her. Her thought is "No matter what, I always have friends with me..." Later on, Fighter has interactions with Usagi. She definitely likes Usagi a whole bunch. She's the one that's always explaining things. At one point, she offers her hand to Usagi. Of course, Chibi Chibi pops up, and Usagi declines. Still, it shows the two of them are friends at least. That's really about as far as the relationship between Seiya and Usagi goes in the manga. Heh, not nearly as detailed as the anime section, huh? But there's really not much there. Seiya just doesn't love Usagi. He likes her a whole bunch as a friend, and he hates to see her suffer. |
